Mammography

Mammography is a type of X-Ray that is used to take detailed images of breast to detect signs and symptoms of breast cancer in women. It uses low energy X-Rays and helps in early detection of tumors, lumps and other abnormalities in breast. There are two types of mammography namely screening mammography and diagnostic mammography. Whole procedure of mammography takes 15 to 20 minutes. Sometimes repeated pictures are also taken to get accurate and detailed image of breast. Mammography is also called as Mastography.

Ultra sound

Ultra sound is a scan that captures live images of organs and structures inside the body by using high frequency sound waves. It is also known as sonography, it gives quick information about lungs, bladder, thyroid and other organs of the body. Ultrasound scan is a routine test for conceived women, it helps to monitor growth, development, due date and abnormalities if any in fetus. It is very useful to detect abnormalities of heart structure like heart valves, stones in gallbladder or kidneys, breast lumps, problems with muscles, joints and also guide internal biopsies. There are different types of ultrasound scans available depending on the body part examined.

ECG

Electrocardiography (ECG) is a process of recording the electrical activity of the heart to detect abnormalities in heart. Electrodes placed on the skin helps in recording the electrical activity of heart on a paper. ECG is the first test doctors prescribe when a person has symptoms of chest pain or palpitations and for a patient scheduled for surgery. ECG only records the electrical activity from our body, no electricity is sent through the body in the process. It is a safe and painless process. ECG is used to measure heart beat, abnormalities of heart and to find causes of chest pain.

Result of the stress test helps to determine the work of heart walls, symptoms of shortness of breath, coronary heart diseases and to assess other problems like heart failure or heart valve disease.
